TOMMY BOYD PLANS TO BOUNCE BACK WITH LIVE INTERNET SHOW
Former Talk Radio presenter Tommy Boyd is vowing to bounce back with a new venture to allow him to continue broadcasting - an Internet show. Tommy was fired from the station on Black Thursday at the same time as Nick and has since been relaxing and thinking of ways to find his show a new home.
He has e-mailed several of his on-line listeners personally, including myself, and he has also sent a brief outline of his plans to his mailing list.
In a private e-mail sent directly to me he said, "Thanks for your interest in the show, which is currently looking for a new home. One suggestion is that I put it out on the Internet, say once a week, perhaps on Sunday nights. Would you be interested in giving it a listen there, and what thoughts do you have?"
He then went on to write in an e-mail to his mailing list, "Dear All... Not sure who I'm talking to here, but hello. I'm just having a couple of weeks with my feet up, then I'm getting going with a plan to put the show on the Internet. Listeners will need to download Realplay (free) which we'll explain how to do (a one-button job). Since a website offers pictures and text, we're going to be looking at ways to make the show better: more cutting, interactive etc. I'm meeting a provider next Wednesday, and hope to pursuade them to gift me as many audio lines as I'll need to do the show live. Anyone interested please e mail me."
