OPERATION VIRGIN
LET'S GET NICK BACK ON THE PHONES AT VIRGIN

How can I help get Nick back on the phones at Virgin Radio?
Here's how you can help - write out a letter to Virgin Radio, either printed or hand written explaining how much you'd like to hear Nick Abbot back on the phones at Virgin Radio. You could mention how good you thought he was on Talk Radio, how you've missed him since the old Virgin days, how he's nowhere near as good as he could be on afternoons, how he could benefit the station in terms of audience figures, how you and your friends/family started to listen to Nick on the phones at Talk Radio and would love to be able to listen to Nick on Virgin - mention as many valid points as you feel necessary to stress your point but do not be aggressive and do not make reference to Kelvin MacKenzie or bad management at Talk Radio - doing this will not help Nick and will only give a negative impression to the Virgin management. It is important that we convince them to get Nick back because he can benefit them as a station and not because we miss him, or because he deserves it - that to them is irrelevant.
To give you a better idea, here is what an insider thinks is the best thing to do, "Some gentle encouragement from fans in the form of letter writing or a well worded fax would be a very good idea. Though I would stress the importance of being polite and pointing out facts (like his ability to increase the audience at peak TV viewing time etc) rather than slagging off Talk Radio management."
They then went on to say e-mailing and phoning were pretty pointless and that, "Letter writing is best and faxing could also be good" - everything else is either not checked/logged or binned on being received.
So remember, do not send e-mails and do not phone in, simply write a letter - you know the old fashioned thing with a pen and paper - or send a fax - it's the only thing that will make the management at Virgin realise that they just have to do the right thing and put Nick back on the phones once more.
When you have written your letter,
send it to one of the following to addresses:
John Revell
Virgin Radio
No 1 Golden Square
London

Geoff Holland

Although a letter is preferable, you could also fax Virgin:

If you are unsure about the letter you are going to send to Virgin Radio, feel free to e-mail it to me at IanCole@NickAbbot.com and I will give you my opinions and edit it if you wish me to. It is important we are all singing from the same hymn book so we need to keep our points clear, concise, and persuasive. Please let me know via a quick e-mail if you do write to Virgin, so I can keep a rough count on the number of letters are heading their way.
So come on people - if ever Nick needed our support it is now - let's get off our butts and do this for him - a letter is all it takes. One letter can be ignored, 10 will raise an eyebrow, 20 will make them think, 50 can cause a management meeting... and from there it goes on.
If we all do this and we all pull together, perhaps this Christmas the famous little St Nick will bring us the best present we could ever wish for - the greatest radio show ever, back on our dials on Virgin.
